Last night we headed out to have a "nice" dinner to celebrate Veteran's Day. We agreed we should head to Hendricks. We started early to enjoy a drink before dinner. I had a Hendrick's Martini, T had a Tito's and S had a "skinny Margarita". All the drinks we well made and delivered by Curtis, our server. We discussed the day and some of the experiences we had while I was in the Army, As it was time to order, Curtis took us through the menu and recommended the items that he enjoyed. I settled on the 14 oz prime steak, perfect med rare with those great "dripped potatoes". T is a fan of sushi and chose the Hamachi, Citrus flavors and as tender as can be, Surprise! A salmon and caviar pizza appeared! Crispy crust and thinly sliced salmon. Another hit! S loves the "wedge". It did not disappoint! We tasted each others entrees. Curtis matched each entree with a perfectly selected wine. Could not leave without a couple of desserts. Warm coffee cake and a great key lime cheesecake topped off the feast.
If you have not been to Hendrix --- go! Chef Rainer Schwartz is a uber talented chef! You can taste his food at "The Deck" and "Driftwood Kitchen in Laguna Beach, Rumors swirl that 2020 will find two more restaurants in his portfolio.
